Media Center - Audio Streams

Times have changed. Digital sound and video are at your fingertip...just one click away. Our state of the art Media Center offers you many aspects to experience aviation with more insight and engagement.

Music: When browsing through our web pages you have the option to turn on or off animating Music. A flash player needs to be installed on your computer to play the music. The embedded player's "SkipJack" feature remembers the position of the playhead. When changing web pages, the music should continue rather than going back to the beginning. The default setting is NO MUSIC since a low bandwidth connection would need too much time to play the high quality mp3 files. To continue the music when changing pages you need to re-click the Music Link of the Media Center.

ATIS: This is the Automatic Terminal Information Service of St. Petersburg/ Clearwater International Airport in real-time*. It is a
automatically recorded message transmitted on a particular frequency, containing current weather conditions, altimeter setting, active runways, etc., provided at all major airports.

Ground Control: The air traffic control division of the control tower that provides clearance and instructions for the ground movement of aircraft and vehicles along the taxiways and non active runways. You can hear St. Petersburg/ Clearwater International Ground Control in real-time*.

Tower: A terminal facility that uses air/ground communications, visual signaling, and other devices to provide Air Traffic Services to aircraft operating in the vicinity of an airport or on active runway areas. You can hear St. Petersburg/ Clearwater International Tower in real-time*.

Approach: An airport ATC facility that proves approach control services to aircraft operators; approach control operates between the en route and the immediate airport airspace areas. In our case Tampa is the approach-radar site. It is split into various sectors and altitude layers. The most prominent approach frequency for our airport is 125.3 MHz which covers the lower West sector of Tampa.

Supported Operating Systems and Supported Browsers: Internet Explorer and Firefox for PC are supported. Safari and Firefox on a MAC unfortunately are not supported. MAC users, please contact Microsoft.com and express your interest for Apple and Microsoft to come to terms with a Digital Rights Management Agreement.

Firewalls and Security Software: Make sure your firewall or security software allows Windows Media Player to work. If you cannot listen to Windows Media Files from other sites such as microsoft.com, your security software is blocking access to Windows Media Player. Contact your security software vendor or manufacturer for assistance.
